The SPICE project is pleased to announce its collaboration with UTOPIZE as a sister project under the Horizon Europe programme. Both initiatives are funded through the topic HORIZON-MISS-2024-NEB-01-02 – New governance models for the co-design and co-construction of public spaces in neighbourhoods by communities, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing participatory approaches to urban transformation.
Inspired by the values of the New European Bauhaus – sustainability, inclusion and beauty – both projects seek to empower local communities to actively shape the future of their neighbourhoods. Through their respective pilot activities across Europe, SPICE and UTOPIZE will generate valuable knowledge, methodologies and practical solutions that strengthen democratic participation and foster more resilient and people-centred public spaces.
As sister projects, SPICE and UTOPIZE look forward to exchanging experiences, sharing results and exploring opportunities for collaboration to maximise their collective impact and contribute to more inclusive and sustainable urban environments across Europe.
